Where Do We Start?
Custom home design is a unique process focused on what will truly make a place home. For each family this will - and should be - different. At Roberts Contracting, our process starts with you: what would your ideal house look like, feel like, and how would it function? Our three step process, in partnership with tremendously talented architects and designers, translates your thoughts into a design where form complements function and where your dreams become reality.
The Three Steps
The Roberts Contracting design build process for custom new construction homes can be broken down into three simple steps.
Collaboration
Collaboration is key to figure out what you want and what is possible. During this phase an As-Built survey is created of the existing structure (if one exists) and our architect partner The Kline Organization is brought in to revise or design floor plans that meet your goals. Having your custom home builder involved during the design phase is crucial to making strategic design decisions that also factor cost.
Coordination
When detailed floor plans are finalized, Roberts Contracting will connect with our vetted team of tradesmen and artisans to develop a pricing package. Design selections are crucial during this phase, and you will meet with the best in the field to help you choose finishes that are both elegant and durable. At the conclusion of this phase, you will be presented with a full cost breakdown and detailed specifications.
Completion
Upon approval of the proposal, Roberts Contracting will begin the construction process. Building permits will be obtained, a construction timeline will be finalized, and materials will be ordered. All of the details of your construction project will be accessible through your individualized portal in our unique online project management tool, including billing, budgets, selections, plans, and contract materials.
Portal Access
Communication during the construction process is critical, and our online portal empowers clients to feel connected to and a part of the home building process. Through this software, each step of building your home will be communicated to you. Budget and contract documents will be approved with the click of a button, options for everything including the kitchen sink will be shared with you, including pictures and pricing, and invoices will be available to review. With this system in place, you will always be connected to your home building project.
